What we look for
Four things, none of which are on a résumé.
You finish things
A small system that runs in production teaches more than five that stopped at the prototype. We would rather see one thing you shipped and maintained.
You can explain your reasoning
Most of this job is making a trade-off and then defending it to someone who will live with the consequences. Being right silently is not enough.
You are honest about what you do not know
The expensive failures in this industry come from people who guessed and did not say so. Saying "I need to check" is a senior behaviour.
You care about the person on the other end
Somebody has to use what we build, often under pressure. That constraint should show up in your work without being asked for.
Process
Four steps. No unpaid project work.
Start to finish is usually two to three weeks. You will hear from us either way.

A short conversation
Thirty minutes. What you have built, what you want to build next, and whether the work here matches it. No whiteboard, no trick questions.
- 02
A real problem
A scoped exercise drawn from work we actually do, sized to a few hours and paid if it runs longer. You keep whatever you build.
- 03
Working session
We go through your solution together the way we would review a colleague’s. How you reason about trade-offs matters more than whether you arrived at our answer.
- 04
Offer
Compensation, scope and expectations in writing, with a decision from us within three working days of the last conversation.
